I saw this out-of-it 4x4 Civilian in Hakuba. How epic would this platform be as an off road liveaboard?!

Leaf springs all round, I don't know what the front axle is, but its definately not a Patrol unit. Its about twice as big and has CV boots at the ends.

The rear axle is the same size... but full float with duallys... and way bigger than an H260.
It appeared to have a low range transfer case too, and the gearbox was cast iron case. Probably has one of those 6.9 litre+ UD Diesel engines. And I imagine the diff gearing is in the 6:1 range.

Talk about industrial duty!

Despite the snow which tends to cause shrinkage, this thing totally gave me a hard on.

Sweet!
Yeah I noticed the steering system is quite interesting, the draglink has an idler arm similar the MQ Patrol setup.

wouldn't be surprised if the front axle is an isuzu NPS unit.
decent sized things with bellows type boots over the swivels and that idler on the tie rod. they don't seem to detroy much even with huge floatation tyres on them and overloaded bouncing around paddocks.

lots of badge engineered nissan and isuzu heavier stuff out there - usually isuzu small/mid trucks badged nissan, and nissan buses badged isuzu.
will be td42t though I bet.
