80 series nitro gear install

hi im doing a Nitro ring and pinion on my front 80s diff open carrier( for now). have just done the pre assemble to check the pinion.
Question the head clearance between the pinion and the carrier is only a hair with all the bearings and pinion tightened, whats the gap meant to be 2mm?

might disassemble and try to move the pinion bearing up. tomorrow

Setting up a diff is not a straight forward job... lots of bits to set up..
Pinion depth, backlash, bearing preload.
Get any one of them wrong and you run the risk of turning your new gears into grinding paste.
You might want to down load a manual, plenty of 80 series stuff out there...
