5m and 7m front sumps are the same and have the same oil pickup, 7mgte(turbo) is a mid sump hence you need a gte pickup, I think 4m sumps are mid also, but not sure about that one. As far as the flywheels go, I think a 3y will fit but needs a bolt hole slotted to fit the 5m crank

Thanks Jafa, the sump i have must be a 7mgte one, because it's mid bowl. Would this mean i need a 7mgte pick up, or could i modify the 5m one is some way?
Thanks

or 6m or 4m. It is only a pipe to feed to the oil pump pick up, and with a bit of shagging about you could probably create something.
Mid mount is the ideal for a wet sump so the pump has a better chance of being in the oil no matter waht the angle you are pulling.

I've done the modification to the pickup it is a cast plate and tube its not too hard to modify the biggy is its alloy so you'll need a specail type of welder.... if I find some time I'll tip my motor up and take a pick for ya
Made mine a center mount and deeper and I'm also going to throw some wings on the sump to increase volume but thats just me I like overkill

When you've seen me drive and the "competition mode" kicks in you'll understand why
Oh and when I do my test run for the lemon

lets just say I'll have the video, suceed or fail it should be good veiwing it is a match for anything done in the states

I am using a 3y flywheel, had to get one hole slotted, some places wont do it saying you'll F#$#@k ya engine but its all good, should only cost ya like $20 to have it done.

heres the pics I also took a couple of the sump going to do another one with wings and not as deep that way I can get the motor lower for a better center of gravity
Heres the pump pick up I "re-aligned" turned it about 90deg
Welding it was a bit of an issue I remember now

I had to run the pulse to help with cleaning on the weld the alloy was still dirty even after flapdisking the surface...
Next time when I shorten it I'm going to just make a reciever for a steel tube that way I can make it fit where ever I like no problems
Oh and here's a shot of the sump

was a bit of F-up I gas welded it without being clamped to the block and warped it a bit

but you can see the idea ... oh and got a spare block now so Mk2 will be no problems
Theres a normal 5M sump for comparason below
Cheers Reece
Oh and Matts right slotting is a common fix to run the 3y... its only one bolt out of the

6 (might be more not certain) I also made a wee cressent spacer to fit in the open end on mine the bolt clamps it in place. easy to maken with a file

if it is an electric one you should be able, or you can buy them pretty cheap
