coolant leak td 42

hi guys my td42 has sprung a water leak at front of motor between the block and front engine plate the black steel plate that the injector pump bolts to i need to know if i can buy a gasket set that replaces all the gaskets on the front of motor any help would be much appreciated

Ud need to buy a lower gasket set(all gaskets from head down)n just use the bits required in set.

What a #### of a job that is... It's generally the steel plate that bolts to the front of the engine corrodes away around the rectangle water fitting... I don't envy you

yer i haven't pulled all the front off the motor yet but it was leaking between the metal plate and the block i am hoping it is just the gasket but if it is the metal plate that is corroded can it be repaired or is it a throw away job . yer and i am looking at getting a bottom end gasket kit

You could repair it with welding and some linishing. The trick will be welding it without warping it to bad. Otherwise you could use old plate as a template n trace out a new one n cut it out or send it out to lazer cutters

well i took front of motor and cleaned it all up and i think i might of been a bit lucky only a little corrosion on front engine plate i think a new gasket set and some sealant and it should be good for another million ks i have a new gasket set coming so that should tidy up a few minor oil leaks
