Hi
So i have a Nissan terrano r-50. Its the 3.2 Diesel auto. I noticed the last 2 times iv driven it a wee distance (30km) its got a wee bit hot (2/3 of the temp gauge) however only for a short time then drops back down. Today it also flashed a engine check light for about 1 min then turned off. So tonight i went to have a good look (was planning on dropping radiator out to get it cleaned) and when i dropped the coolant only about 1lt came out with some oil through it. Never had these issues before oil in engine is at correct level and no foam on top of head. Oil was a wee bit old however still straight black. So after some advice ideas and where to go from here?

Thanks

Sandwich plate on side of block or bottom tank of radiator or head gasket on oil gallery pressure side. They are your options .

Hi
Transmission fluid is level and holding. Whats the best method for testing between Sandwich plate and head gasket? Anyone replace the head gasket how much work is involved is it complex or relatively straight forward looking from the outside doesnt look to bad to do.

If the ecu has shut down the engine it has picked up a pretty serious pre ignition issue. May be even starting to burn oil from leaking head gasket.
If trans fluid is good a compression test will reveal all.
