new toy sr20 swb escudo

Post by mcphail »

Hi guys.
i find myself owning a new toy im wondering if anyone recognizes it or knows who originally built it .
is a 92 swb escudo had a s13 sr20det in it when i got hold of it the engine was stuffed low compression on cylinder 1 and 3 around 30 psi
it has kzn130 front and rear diffs and axle with silvia s13 brakes all round as far as i can tell.

it looks pretty decent at the moment it alot better than anything i could come up. what was in it before?
the fronts my biggest concern atm the kzn130 cvs are a bit big to squeeze in there and are close to touching everything they also dont match up to the hobs very well

On the rear diff orginal suzuki top trailing arm was bit short so was binding up and flogging out the bush.
And there was bit to much angle on universal so mate extended the top arm and put Teflon rod ends on which helped.
From memory the driveshaft was on angle sideways aswell

Not sure on other problems didn't know the owners
First time I seen it wheeling at wood hill it was only 2wd suzuki diff and cvs didn't like sr20det lol.
Hilux diffs should hold up way better.

Average Auck house prices are getting close to $1m so might be cheaper to keep the zuk instead :D

forgot to mention took the zook out to woodhill was all going sweet no problems with anything i had the balls to try . then i stalled and she didn't want to start again pulled the fuel pump relay and she would start up sweet couldn't suss it out while looking like a knob on the side of the tracks.
3 days later i realized the coolant temp sensor had come unplugged plugged it back in and all back to normal.

made up an IC shroud and mounted a fan to keep air flow through the IC at low speeds and need to sort out a switch for the VCT it idles a bit funny with out it and should give some more power in the lower rev range

so found out the other day that the drivers side cv shaft is a bit short, at full lock with some droop.
the inner joint pulled out of the cup that attaches to the diff ,slammed back into the diff as it came back down and broke the ally mount off the front.
i should probably start a build? rebuild thread.
