does anyone no where to get those frount recovary bars that bits4vits used to sell had the 2 shakles on each end and went through the frount crossmember

Couldn't you just make one up similar, find a piece of tube theat fits snugly through the front tube x member, weld a large nut inside the tube and fit a shackle mount on?
lneil did this to his Vitara as a bulbar mount and I will be doing the same to our Vitara shortly

I made one up for my Vitara, the club engineer didn't like the idea of using shackles so I wound up plating the chassis and mounting hooks. Would have accepted the shackles if I'd insisted, I think.

I've still got it in the shed - end bolts are 36mm (for that meaty look) and the end plates are 90x20mm Truck spring steel (so you can't weld to it - wish I'd known that before I started). I think the bolts and end plates cost me $60 so I'd let it go for that...
Note: this is for a SWB, I suspect LWB are different at the front.

We have one, it's not even welded on, the nuts are nylock ones. A few of those along the threaded rod, the figure-8 plates at the end out of 25mm plates held on by one last pair of nylock bolts.

Most difficult thing would be the plates, but get a Cad file together and get them profile cut would look very tidy. Could perhaps tap them too?

Our has never even looked close to moving. But you do rely on shackles - strong, but slow.
