Hi all
Looking for advice on the above mentioned tyres.
They will be used for road driving such as family trips up North and down South along with the odd bit off roading around the likes of Red Rocks and general comuting around the neighborhood.
I have another 4x4 which runs the STT tyres ie anything too messy would see this 4x4 used.
Many thanks

Re: Cooper AT/3 vs Cooper St "All Terrain" Tyres
Ive ran the st tyre and found it tracked the contours of the road rather than steering straight. Quite fusterating requiring more effort to ensure vehicle didnt wonder off the road.
It has alot to do with the sharp square edges.
The h.w. treads on previous didnt track and neither did the bfg muds.
I specivicly (?) Stayed away from the st on my last purchase and went for the stt.
I will be fitting the a.t/3 or similar to the wifes prado when its due for a new set duebto the more baised road tread and rounder edges. Its still a good strong tyre with will handle gravel and odd dry farm driving that she does and handle bagging the tyre if traction becomes a problem.

Thank you - that's good feedback.
I'm quite sure they still have a good sidewall on the AT3 and should handle Red Rocks or basic shiny trails with ease.
I really can't see them being tested too hard.

Have had the AT3 on two vehicles, wear great etc but are alot more of a road tyre than All Terrain, I changed to muds as I needed more grip but should be perfect for what your after.
Softroader VW Amarok nowadays....

Thank you.
I have ended going with Pirelli Scorpion ATR's.
This is due to the dealer having a set out back and brand new.
Very hard to find much detail on them but they apparantly took out the AT test a few years back in Austrlia 4wd magazine.
Not sure if that's much to go by though, but had some tough competition.

Ive had tbe 265/65/17 on the wifes v6 prado for a yr now. V.happy. 15to20k and no real noticeable wear.
Although she is careful moving horse floats etc around on paddocks they have been fine.
Holds well on gravel roads.
Sticks real well on the black top.... even with me driving it.
4th set of coopers that ive owned and porform v.well for a roading based AT
