front diff

Post by spanky »

after some intersesting noises from frontdiff/hubs area after a good thrashing last weekend, i washed it and found that the bracket that holds bottom of front diff from moving had broken off, so of course diff and driveshaft was jumping up and down. it might pay for you guys to check for cracks as found a crack on front of housing where the gusset ends and am guessing that the bracket was cracked for a while aswell. i heard that v6 grand vitara has a steel axle housing that you can use ,does anybody know if thats right? photos in spankys pics but will try to put on here.

I would be guessing you are talking about a vitara/escudo as its a comon problem . Yes a grand vitara has a steel front assy and so does the diesel vitaras . If you only want a steel 3rd member get a 413 housing and the mounts put on it .
