4" lift panhard length

Post by DaveM »

I'm starting to get the bits and pieces ready for the old Hippo's lift.
Can anyone give me a rough measurement on the length of the f&r panhards for a 4" lift on a safari?

Wouldn't mind getting them fairly close to what they need to be before I get them into the painter.

I've never measured mine....I just drove around for the first few weeks with the body and chassis sitting to one side of the diffs because my eye-ometer was a bit out  .

I'll have a measure up tonight.

Measure from one point on the chassis to annother point on the oppisite side of the axle, and measure the same from the other side of the chassis to the other side of the axle (e.g. fromt chassis crossmember LHS to front spring mount RHS). Adjust panhard till the measurements are the same. The diff should end up centred. Thats the way i did it on mine and it seemed to work ok.

How did the new parts work out dave?

Parts certainly look good, and will look even better once painted. My drop boxes have just arrived from G Guy Motors, so all I need is the coils.

I'm tempted by the EFS coils, but autolign in Christchurch will custom make me a set to my specs for $440+ which sounds good.
Anyone got some idea on what rating to go for on the front? Running the pto, and will add bullars as soon as money permits.

Dodzee, sorry for the delay  , will get these parts to you as soon as the new ones are in.

Hey Dave, Autolign wont custom make these they will get Bellamy & East to do them,so save some bucks and go direct to Anton at B&E.

Dave, I've got a set of EFS coils for sale. They were in the truck for one trial run, but we decided it needed something firmer in the front and softer in the rear to suit our driving style.

Front Coil – NIS-101HL5E – 250 lbs/inch – proposed 5â€
