'87 BJ74 'Cruiser

13BT with auto... done 340kms motor was fully rebuilt 100kms ago fuel pump has also been done since then. Looks to have a fat pipe on it already about 2.5". Has inline pump, how do I tweak the fueling on it and how much is safe with no intercooler? Yes I know I need an egt gauge but cbf at the moment :lol: Has the A440 trans (first auto) are these a good trans? Where have people put trans coolers as there is fk all room up front... Fluid is clear red and doesn't smell burnt should I do a service on it anyway (no idea when it was last done) Thanks in advance... :mrgreen:

get the biggest cooler you can fit for trans, they are very strong but need the cooler(same trans in earlier VX's (A440 hydraulic trans-A442 electronic i think)and common problem I think) you could drop the trans pants and check the filter otherwise big ass cooler, before you tweak.. EGT is a must otherwise you play with fire.. :wink: then follow the tweaks on net.. there are loads.. but don't over do it which is where egt come into it.. as they will climb very quikly.. Ok cheers for the advice will fit egt gauge and trans cooler before I play with it, might see if I can squeeze a top mount air to air in there as well no way I'm getting a front mount in there... :?

Would rather leave it in as probably have better resale value if I keep all that stuff original, plus A/C is good in summer :mrgreen:

Anyone got any diagrams of the 4wd vacuum solenoids? It's not working properly I have experience with the workings of it as Ruggers have the same setup but knowing what hoses are supposed to go where makes things a lot easier! :D

Ok cheers will have a look in the morning don't remember seeing those colours though also would be good to have diagram of outputs to see which is supposed to be vacuum and which is atmosphere as I think it's been mucked about with.

bottom of both solenoids goes to your vacuum source and top goes to the diaphragm

2wd solenoid pulls the diaphragm and linkage into 2wd and 4wd solenoid pulls the diaphragm and linkage the oppersite direction into 4wd

Sweet cheers familiar with how it works just not the positions of the hoses etc
