Tyre sizes

Post by arby5 »

I've just bought my first truck (1990 turbo diesel Terrano) and i'm currently saving up for new tyres but i'm not sure what size to get. It came on 30/9.5/15's but 31's seem like an easy way to get a little more height However i'm not sure if they'd fit without offset rims or if they would even be worth it. So any advice would be quite helpful.

What kind of tyre are you looking at? 31x10.5 all terrains will go straight on, 31x10.5 should fit standard, just you'll likely need to adjust steering stops to stop them rubbing on full lock

keep the standard offset. 31s will fit clear, unless the suspension has sagged LOTS.
You will notice slightly worse fuel consumption with the taller tyres.

if you keep the standard offset, you can fit 33x 10.5s x15s with 2"body 2"susp. lift. Thats 10.5 wide not 12.5

Cheers for all the advice, I'm looking at getting a set of muddies I think. So since 31's will fit It'll come down to price difference i suppose.
