Checking the weather

Just found this website for checking current weather conditions.
It has weather stations from around nz and including many different suburbs in bigger cities. Most update every 15 minutes or so.
very useful for boaties etc

wow - two bouncing boobies in a row should not be allowed - can damage the neck
Take it from a real boatie. This is a better weather website:

Have been watching for a while and they've been pretty accurate. Even the 7 day forecast charts have been on to it.

Pretty in-depth stuff though, takes a bit to interpret for the non meteorologists amongst us
Amazing how local weather can be so diverse (three different recording sites in CHCH can show a temp range difference of 5.6 deg at the same time).

Yeah, it can be a bit interesting to interpret. Check out the "Forecast Charts" option then 3 day or 7 day "Surface wind, MSLP and rainfall" for your area.
The two things to look out for are:
1. Are there any pretty colours over the area I`m in (different colours indicate different amounts of rain fall). If no colour throughout the day
2. How close together are the little pink lines. The closer together they are the more windy it will be. (happy to give more info if anyone interested). Only really matters to boaties but if real windy good idea to take the 4x4 out instead

LOL, there must have been huge amounts of time and probably money spent on producing the site
