Thanks for the offer for the smoke Jeff but I had plenty of spare here as you can immagine.
The upshot of it all is that there may be a fault with the alarm(s), I have 2 in it, unproven yet till the battery is fully charged and can see what is draining it.
Blew a 40A fuse I put in that controlls all the accessories, radios, stereo, computer etc etc. Same type as is used for power amps.
60A fuseable link was blown and has been replaced, thats where most of the smoke escaped
Ignition switch is ok for now, but it may play up in the future, fingers crossed.
Was also advised on replacing and upgrading the regulator in the alternator as these models apparently have a habbit of crapping out and getting the spline checked on the back where the brake booster is connected too.
Will need to save hard now and do the dual battery conversion now, as this will save the master battery should there be any future accessory faults on the system.
