seats : dealer option "leather upgrade"
purchased 2nd hand spring last year.
When I drive my ute , after 10 minutes I get a sore butt from the seat, driver or passenger side. The only other time I ran into this problem the seat was badly worn and you sat on the steel frame on one side. Now I have the same effect on a seat in visually excellent condition. I have replaced the foam in the seat and no difference.The replacement foam does not have reinforcing straps in it either, and is slightly softer. The seat is an airbag model and is expensive to replace.
Has any one run into this problem, and if so how was it solved?

Sell it and buy a cruiser

Airbags are in the top half. Should be able to get the base fully retrimmed with no issue.

Crash bandicoot, I don't follow. I have already replaced the seat pan foam, and no fix. Do you mean replace the leather? Or do you mean change the seat pan frame and bolt the seat back to the new pan?
Note , the seat back is good. Better in fact than most seats.

Basically and bluntley you want the upholsterer to shape the foam to your arse, to spread the load...

Bit like lowering your tyre pressure to allow the tyre to mould more easily to the terrain its rolling over.

Mudlva, I know that was a smart comment. Seats aside , it is a very good vehicle. The seat problem ruins it.
Crash bandicoot, when I changed the seat foam I spent a week driving and rasping the foam to shape to get as comfortable as possible. This went backwards when the leather went back on the seat, leaving me in the current discomfort. I don't know why this is, as I am not sitting on a seam, and I have put a sheep skin (wooly) on the seat but only to small gain.

some cars seat are poor design or don't suit you my courier ute seat was stuff and a pain , a new Pajero in tassie was hard an uncomfitable ,
different seats for different bums

I have a new Dmax which is firm on long drives and fitted canvas seat covers with a foam mattress underlay cut to size and put under the seat cover. Was quite an improvement. Though I wasn't losing a nice leather finish.
