Hi guys my 89 Vitara 8 valve is vibrating heaps at idle and when I turn it off it hesitates then slowly shudders to a stop (alot slower than normal). Anybody have any idea what this could be??

no I checked that today seems fine, i did get a new 2 inch exhaust on Friday though so maybe been running too rich and fouled up the plugs? Might explain the running after turned off if carbon on plugs still glowing. Guess it might explain rough idle at times as well as it drives fine all the other time. It makes a quiet popping sound when gas pedal is released.

check plugs sounds like caroned plugs, you might have to adjust ya mixture possibly could be too rich and check your timing

All fixed! turned out it was just a vacuum hose from the carb that had fallen off(a little one very hard to see). As for the exhaust, its pretty free flowing only one high flow muffler on it. Cheers
