Hi yall, My name is Svanur I hit your site today and I like it even tough I´m at the other end of the world.
I share the same interrest in 4x4´s as you and I read some pretty good topics on toyotas wich is the type i use right know.
I have a 94 hilux dc that I have been making som changes to four the past 4 years. And now I am trying to make it look good to.
What I have done to it is I threw away the suspension and now it has firestone airsprings front and back controlled from inside, four linked in the back, range rover in the front, moved the back axel 30cm back and front axel 4cm front, put in stronger arms in front, locked 5.29 diffs, 2 airpumps, 1 for the airsprings and another for the tires, just finished modding the body for 44" dc tires but I´m only using them on trips as they wear out the bearings fast, for towndriving i have 38" ground hawgs. I have some standard icelandic navigation and security items like, gps, cb, vhf, computer, winch and a toolbox. The only things I need now is a crawler gear and just little bit more powerfull motor since it is just a 2,4tdi but it has done its job. Here we drive mostly in the snow but it is abut once or twice a year when I get really frustratet when it doesnt make it up the hill that the gasoline cars make, but still for a student with a low budget it is wery acceptable since our weekend tours span 300-600km
Im hoping for a good contact and chats with all interstet in 4x4 modifications and travelling. I could post images of my ride but I dont know how, anyone?[/img]

Hey man, love the sounds of your truck, running 44's with a 2.4TD, on ya, Haha. great stuff.
If your looking at ideas for making more power many of us here have done conversions to petrol engines and would be more than happy to offer advice.

I also need a crawler box, you wanna buy me one?

Hey, Phantom. Welcome to the site. We have posted some awesome 4x4 action from Iceland up on this site.

Videos that show trucks with paddle like tyres and massive horsepower going up mear vertical sand banks and powering straight over small lakes.

Do you know where we could buy a full DVD copy of this action??? Or have any good Internet links for us?

Cheers 8)
