Have heard this has been done and produces a bit more performance. Anybody done this themselves? Keen to know costs and how much better they go. cheers

yeah they use the one off the swift gti engine over there, think you need 16v block as the pistons need the 4 indents in them. Anybody know if the head off the 1.3l samurai will work and improve performance?

Are you talking about swapping an 8 valve head for an 8 valve head?

I've got a 16v engine in my truck and although it makes good power it is a little crap down low when your off road. Plus it is super responsive which is a little hard to control on bumpy bits of the track.

Where as my mate has an 8v and his is pretty gutless up top but makes good toque off the mark so is probably better off road. (Not that I'd admit that to him)

You need to keep the right head with the right block, although I've seen an 8 v head on a 16v block... it make pretty high compression. I'm guessing an 16v on an 8v block would do the opposite
:(

The ultimate for power would be a gti head on a 2000 cc 16v block. Good luck finding either of those bits though, I know I'm looking.

Oh both the engines I'm talking about above are big block 1590 cc

Have a look at the following website, it has some info on swapping a G13b head onto a G16a block.
