Over the next 24 hours, due to Cyclone Debbie, there is expected to be much flooding, over many areas of the country. Road closures are happening, but this will likely increase markedly later today. As a 4WD community, with our lifted trucks, we are sometimes called(or volunteer) to take our vehicles where others can't go. PLEASE, make good judgements as to whether to enter flood waters. And remember there is a significant difference in risk level between driving into an area of ponding, and into an area of moving water. You DO NOT want to get shunted off the road into the drain.
Another point to note is that the soil is waterlogged, and tall trees that are subject to high winds can put huge leverage on their root systems in conditions like we are currently facing. Falling trees may become an issue.
Take care out there.

as someone who has been flooded in the past - don't go out rubbernecking when floodwaters are still up!
half the damage to our property wouldn't have happened if rubberneckers weren't driving up and down our road past the road closed signs causing massive bow-waves to slam through our house!
