Hi fitted a snorkel last week and just checking for leaks and found on the air box there are two plastic chambers I'm guessing for catching water which have small holes in the bottom to let the water drain out for when the intake was in the guard. Now I have a snorkel I don't think I would need these or just silicon the drain holes and put them back on. I have taken them off as I'm going to reseal every thing anyway.
See the photos for the parts I'm talking about with the arrows, are they needed?
Any ideas would be great.

you wont need the drain holes as they will leak water in if you go deep enough
either seal them or get a custom airbox made with a k&n air filter
this will get the engine breathing better :D :D
cheers

All the ones I've seen had just taken them off and sealed the holes like you planned.

Well I took the chamber things off and got two rubber chair leg feet from Para rubber and put them on.
All sealed up now.

Nice one

Pointless fact - as well as stop water, the chambers are also there for silencing the intake tract noise and are sized/tuned to counter the harmonics of the engine coming back up the intake.
