1997 2.0 ltr 4 cylinder Escudo keeps stopping

Starts ok and seems to run ok for a couple of minutes than will just randomly die, once stopped its easy to restart but dies again.
When it dies no red ignition lights come on until it has almost stopped so fairly sure its not ignition related more fuel related - any ideas ?
Bought a OBD tester but can't find the plug in the vehicle to plug it in - any ideas where that would be ? ( ive checked above pedals and behind ash tray but can't see it )

The OBD should be on under the dash but it probably wont work, well it didnt work for me. The terminal outputs were not the same as the OBD2 standard, my vehicle is a 1997 2.5 V6 (old shape).

Seems to be a common problem.

My Bro had trouble with the fuel pump in his Tara
Sounds like a lot of the same symptoms
