Isuzu Mu - poss other Isuzu - 1996 no start - no reverse lights

If this info helps 1 person Awesome!

So Daughters Isuzu Mu failed wof on no reverse lights, It also has failed to start 3 times since owning..

Problem found for both issues.

Transmission selector switch or maybe other name/s - side effects = No reverse lights, intermittent no start, Some of the lights on dash to say what gear your in wont illuminate..

Cost for new $200 - easy strip & repair.
It's on the drivers side of the trans, plug is under bonnet passengers side.
I will let the photos do the talking.
Basically one of the spring loaded brass bits was stuck in & failed to make connection..

pulled it to bits, cleaned oiled & re-greased now working treat...

I had to do the same after getting sick of no reverse lights when the truck was cold but when warm it was fine.
I had a spare unit and made a good one out of two, I note though that occasionally the beeper stops and the reverse lights don't work, jiggle the lever and it comes right again.
