Rainbow Road and Molesworth

Are they both open

My brother in law is off on an easy SI jaunt with his brother in law from Ninety Mile Beach (who has 1,500+ acres there private sand dunes )

I have never driven rainbow - is the gate unlocked - pay someone $20?

Any advise appreciated.

From memeory its $20 to get the gate umlocked for theRainbow, you just go to the old homestead on the way through and they will unlock it.

You should be able to get more info from the St Arnaud Doc centre if you need to.

Molesworth was open last Friday when I called. I am looking at doing it next Monday. DOC Nelson (03 546-9339) said to call this Friday as sometimes its closed due to fire danger. I s'pose Rainbow will be same/similar.

I went over Molesworth just before new years eve and it snowed, it was pretty cool, not much of a summer were having

went thru 6th and 7th jan was beautiful weather stayd at connors creek hut for a night the hut is cost coverd with the $20 per vehicle gate cover has 6 bunks open fire wel worth the effort we also did parika.... braeburn... mungatapu tracks while we were @ it
