I am looking to fit a snorkel to my 2.8 d Hilux non turbo. what are the better brands. i have looked at an air flow @ $530.00 fitted, is this a good brand and price. Any advice from you guys would be appreciated. I live in Christchurch, so who has the best deals that you know of. Thanks

Ive got an airflow snorkel on my hilux.I fitted it myself....was a mongrel of a job.The template was fine but one of the mounting bolts was impossible to fit as was impossible to get inside the guard to put it in let alone tighten it.Also the flexible hose from the end of the snorkel to the airfilter box was too small to go over it so had to muck around for ages to get it to fit.
It works fine but considering I purchased a snorkel that was for my model hilux wasnt impressed.
Try another brand !!!!

Same problem with my Airflow snorkel for the Safari, crap design, and te hose clamps didnt even fit

Shows a lot of thought was put into it :evil:

Some people don't mind them, but I will never buy another one again.

I got an Airflow for my Daihatsu Rugger, template is a bit funny but it works non the less, It seems to work ok though, Although I'm not complaining as it actually had a listing for it (no other "aftermarket goodie" has a listing for the beastie so far).

I would get a price on a Safari one from the local ARB agent, you may pay a bit more but the quality is worth it, TJM do them as well (Fully Equipped)....

Option C is to make your own...

I put a Safari snorkel on my truck, can't remember how much it cost me but it was definately not at the cheap end of the scale.....

fitted nicely and the template/mountings instructions etc were spot on

I wouldnt call me airflow snorkel cheap for $299 i just expected it to fit properly...(how stupid of me !!!)...i would of taken it back but a but late when youve cut holes in your mud guard to fit it.
Looks like the concensus is avoid airflow snorkels.

Thanks for your feed back guys,i will avoid the airflow snorkels and spend a bit extra on a TJM or Safari. Thanks again
