This time though Im doing a restoration on an old BJ40.
the plan is to keep it close to factory with small practical mods. This is not being built as some offroad weapon but a reflection to an iconic 4wd and to preserve a bit of history, bring back some childhood memories and build something fun for me and my family to go camping in.
So....
I picked up a rather F@#$ed bj40, more rust than anything else however its mostly complete.
this is the red one, its Als got a turbo kit....

then we picked up 3, well 1 and 2 piles of rust with a couple useful parts.
only problem is these were in Collingwood and I'm in Morrinsville now days, after a last minute decision we drove south, cut the good parts from the 2 f'ed ones, load onto one trailer and head for home.
So at this point we have 2 trucks,
1 70 series front Axel,
3 40 series front axels
4 40 series rear axels, at least 2 with LSD's
2 early 40 series doors, would like to get some late doors to use instead.
also hav a pair of rear doors and a wheel holder on the way.
After a back seat to use forward facing (not original but safer for young ones)
May need a roof and or roof hardware
60 or 80 series power steering box
might look an electric power steering pump
then a lot of time and rebuild parts
