GQ safari suspension on a budget

Post by Petemcc »

Hi all,

A mate of mine has a dereg stock standard gq shorty and is looking to make it into an off road rig.

Looking to keep the budget low but have the ability to fab some stuff in the workshop.

Want to run 35 inch tyres. What’s the best suspension mods to do? Would like to keep it low. Will be cutting the guards as much as we can to get the tyres under there but want to improve flex.

Never played with a safari before so keen for some advice.

Cheers,
Pete

Ran 33" tyres no lift but big tyres may need lifting but 50 mm that way no need to change panhards , just springs and shocks ,
89 safari, pto winch, 33x15 simexs. sliders,75mm lift . turbo intercoolered
