Hi Guys
My 1991 shorty suffers from the usual lack of power towing and on the hill. I use it for towing a 1.5 tonne caravan, all the time. I would like to get a turbo fitted, not big psi only thinking 10-12 psi and keeping standard injector pump, just enough to help on the hills.
I’ve seen the kit offered on trademe by trundles using the Garret GTX28/60, looks pretty complete.
The Australian DTS kit uses the Mitsubishi td 05 even more complete with the air filter mod

Would appreciate some advice on the topic.
Would need to have the job done in christchurch or Invercargill, any recommendations on suitable workshops?
Thanks in advance

Had DTS system on mine over boosted blew oil seal
now big truck type turbo 10 pound max, still used their manifold,
It's a big job turbo fitting,
dump pipe oil pickup, oil drain
have to put shield around turbo to protect fuel lines
Air cleaner to turbo,
It takes time if doing it your self to get it up and running to be worth it .
Higher boost might be a better target to aim for 15 to 20 psi

Thanks for the advice
I didnt think there were any fuel lines on that side of the engine

Ill need to get a workshop to fit a kit. I was quoted $850+GST by a turbo shop in invercargill to fit a kit, sounded OK to me. The kit was quoted at 4200+ gst. I could get to Christchurch though if a better option was available.
The Invercargill kit used a Mitsubishi TD 04 which may be small enough to not overboost. Has anyone used this turbo?
