Fitting drop boxes.....

Any tips/advice on making the fitting of drop boxes on the safari easier?
I'm replacing the radius arms as the originals run castor bushes, and I will be doing the Panhards and triling arms if I have time.

Just remove one side at a time, will need to undo one of the bolts on the second side you will be removing though do the diff will rotate into its new poisition
. You also will need to grind out a section where the bracket goes up to the extising radius arm mount. Thing cutting discs are really good for that.

I have a problem with my drop boxes. I have trimmed as much of the existing mount to get these on, but the weld on the box hits the cassis so will not sit flush.
One side is worse than the other, with the side in the pics needing to have a gearbox packer underneath to allow it to fit with bending the box.
The only options I can see, is mount both sides this way, or slot the 4 mount holes on the drop box to allow it to slide foward.
Either way, they aren't going to sit where they should.
Any advice?

Mine did the same thing. Not quite to the extent yours have though.
I just shifted it forward a little. Not really worried about it.

Got any before and after pics showing the change in height?

Will try to find some before pics, and get a pic as is now.
To be honest, I can't see much difference at all, apart from the front not sitting low like it used to
Just need to find a way to jack it high enough so I can measure what length shocks to go for.
Hope to be up this weekend, but we're not sure as yet. If I don't make it up I will send the parts up to ya Doddzee
Cheers

I was talking to G Guy Motors today, and mentioned the problem I had with the boxes not sitting flush, and I've been told to grind the weld off the boxes so they will sit flush against the chassis.
Wouldn't this weaken the remaining weld? It's on the piece that bolts to the old radius hole.

Depends on the type of weld it is. If grant said it will be ok id belive him. Dont grind all the weld out though.
