strip it down ....clean thoroughly.... coat coat wire core and insides with E.R44 spray coating ( make sure the parts u r coating r dry and warmed slightly ) dont cover rectifier or brushes ... :wink:

Remount it higher up in the engine bay, Lots more work, but worth it. (especially if you have an ECU controlled engine)

does it actually work? i wouldnt think so cos the usual things to go are the brushes and volt reg and none of those can be water proofed

welll as i sed u cant do much abt the brushes but as for the rest just tried it out and wrkd for me lol

i do know in the standard lada's the alt can be moved to the top of the engine on the other side from where its mounted and by all accounts works well.

Quick tip: If your alt does stop working, get the engine going and stuff the hose in behind it. its usually mud stops the spring loaded brushes coming out when they wear.
well worked on my lucas alt anyway.

the only prob i have now is the brushes with the safari,s hitachi alts have internal brushholders and there a bastard for collecting mud .. :evil:
mite b able to drill a hole in the brush holder and put an airline onto it to solve this prob depending on weather there is enough room to do it..... will let u know how it goes :roll:
