Yes funny actually all three of the prados in the fuse box are missing the fuse labeled glow (glow plugs). So where is it. sounds the most logical choice but cant find any other fuse housing areas. Wire to the glow plugs appears fine but is not carrying current.
hmm....
And as for the safari i think its a bad week for my trucks as you know....gotta find the fluid leak...

Do these have fusible links like the older landcruiser?
Its a piece of wire(s) close to the + battery terminal.
These also have a fuel cut solenoid on the fuel pump.If its working it should click as the ignition is energised on/off.
If it doesnt you can run a wire direct from the + battery ,to the solenoid.
The 1KZ motor should start without glow plugs if the solenoid is working, even in a Kiwi summer

If it won't pour a couple of pans worth of hot water over it...
Have a look through this:

The silver metal box under the dash clicks after a couple of seconds after ignition is on

I should have been more specific. The clicking will come from solenoid on the pump, the solenoid is a screw in thingy with a 2-3 wires connected to it.
There is also a tacho pick up there ,but thats is a the back of the pump.
The silver box clicking could be a ignition relay or glow plug but on other landcruisers they are usually on the inside fenders.

Well I asked my Father, who has a diesel fuel injection w/shop while I was chatting to him on MSN tonight.
I copied the original post and sent it to him
The response I got wasn't what I expected........He suggested "take it to an Auto Electrician"

before you take it to a auto sparky check all your earth wires. it maybe a long shott but i have trouble all the time with my hilux. especially after going thrrough some mud/ water or after bouncing around a bit.
clen the battery terminals and follow the earth wire back to where its bolted on the body. give it a good rub down with some emery paper to it has a good contact. rememberr toyota's like a good rrub down every now and then!

Crack open a fuel line at the injector and see if any fuel comes out, if not then check power to the fuel cutoff solenoid.
If you have fuel then it should go with a bit of encouragement
All a diesel needs is fuel, air and compression and it should go
