Bit of a heads up really. Seems too be the latest (?) thing in Auckland. Two customers have had their alloy spares taken in the past 2 weeks. Apparently you can get $30 - $40 a piece at the scrap metal dealers. Just had a call this morning from another customer and theirs has been nicked too...

Pieces of shit theives probably making a farkin killing from this...
Either chain it or use locking wheel nuts

Another 90 (defender) hit .....
Anyway, my spare is a bit more distinctive. It's a "Smiths" copy of a
landrover 5 spoke alloy and has a 285/75/16 BFG Mud Terrain on it. The
Smiths rims have much less curve on the spokes
Is "Lowbox" off here I believe....

yup. I got it back though... sadly I didn't get to have a discussion with the individual concerned.
It was offered for sale, so I dont think they're going for scrap. I suspect someone is making a habit of this and has a bit of a cash business going.
I've since heard of a few more, especially Disco alloys. I'd suspect they are making sets up and selling them.
Keep your eyes peeled, I'd like to catch this scumbag.
