Mine SWB has a 65L tank, and on a good trip it will do 450K's, round town usually 300-400k's. My old mans LWB is the about the same.

took my bro 4 wheeling today found the ansawer to the problem , most of his fuel tank exits the truck out the exsaust as black smoke it over fueling
needs his fuel injection pump looked at

No no no
All he needs is new injectors!!!!!!!!
The injector pump will be fine, do the injectors first!!!!!!
Getting the pump done is spendy, and if you go into a turbo diesel specialist and say you want your pump looked at, they will most probably rub their hands together and do a little dance
If the smoke isn't cured by new injectors, then do the pump.

DB is right, do the injectors first. We reco them for $80 each ($480 total), whereas an injection pump reco starts at $1k.
Make sure its got a fresh air-filter too.
I get 12L/100km on highway, and 14L/100km for highway/city mix.

Do you do the injectors exchange?
Cheers, Jeff.

Not anymore. We did one job where we got 4 injectors back instead of 6.
But it usually only takes a few days to get them back to you. Right now probably isn't the best timing though, as getting ready for next comp.
Let me know if you think we can help.

I have a LWB with 35's and get 400-450km a tank(65L tank) high way at cruise,if its a stronge head wind than it goes pear shape quite quick.
some have 65L tanks and some 90-95L nothing to do with model or wheel base.

Has he checked the rubber boot on the lever isn't pulling it out?
Might be able to undo the boot and try it again?
