body lift ln130 surf

when doing a body lift on a surf can the packers be longer than 50mm
an is there any down side to going over 50mm

might find your gear levers dissapear down through the floor if you try and go too high :scratch:

Steering shaft starts to get to short. and starts fouling the hole in the firewall....

You need cert on ANY bodylift...

just 50mm. just about to start suspension lift.

As far as I know you dont need a cirt for a body lift up to 50mm or a suspension lift to the same hight, and have been giving WoFs to cars like this for years. As long as you use spacers there for you have not modified the body or chassis, spacers are not a structual modification.
A lot of WoF guys wont pass anything there not sure on and its up to you to prove them your wright

F%&k me! Where do you do your WOFS? I'm bringing all my stuff to you :)

You know, I've just read through all the related documentation from the LVVTA and LTSA websites and I can't find anything related... although I am sure I've read it somewhere...

Anyone locate the related document?

I was told (at a clroc meeting) by a guy tied in with the governing body of the LTSA that, "you can alter the ride height of your vehicle by up to 50mm with out the need for LVC". It was about 6 years ago though. They had the rule for boy racers who lower their cars, when our guys questioned him about it, he said it didn't matter if you were going up or down in height.
As I said, it was about 6 yrs ago, and I am not in any way up to speed on the actual rules.

I can't find the document either, but the local certifier down there has said that any body lift must be certed (Wayne)

I'm also interested in this certing thing as am considering a lift in my LN61. I know a guy into classic cars who works at ltsa in PNorth so I'll put it by him...

With all the wagons we get certed for things like 4 inch suspension lift we also get bodie lift, bull bars and roll cages put on the cert plate. That way when the men in suits sitting in large buildings get board and decide to make a new rule you will be already certified

You can find documentation at http://www.lvvta.org.nz that give the exclusions, also lots of other interesting info re winch mounts etc etc.

The only area I'd imagine a body lift would be in would be the 'structual' section, but is a spacer between the body and chassis structual?
