clutch master cylinder?

through a mistake with repco i realised today that when i did my clutch afew weeks ago i put power steering fluid in instead of clutch fluid. (long story but realised today when i went to use the leftover clutch/break fluid for 2 bleed my breaks that it was infact power steering fluid... not impresed). So i decided to change the fluid to the right stuf. I opened the bleed nipple and lots came out but nothing went back in from the resevior... tried for a couple of hours to to bleed it through various methods but no luck. cant get any fluid down or feeling in the pedal.
I have been advised that the wrong fluid probably made the rubber at the top swell so that no new stuff would get it however the old stuf was able to get out.

any ideas/ suggestions?

wheres the best place in chch 2 get a new master cylinder?

any help would be much appreciated, im starting to get fed up with this, everytime i fix it something elce goes wrong its pritty much been off the road for almost 2 months now!!!!!! grrrrr

Cheers Pete

sweet will give them a try. does anybody have any other ideas to what might be wrong? or would you think that the cylinder sounds like a good diagnosis?

pete, my guess would be the incorrect oil has caused the cups in the M/Cyl; to swell and the piston is now stuck at the bottom of the stroke and is therefore not pumping any more oil, .
A new M/Cyl; from Toyota will set you back $150.
I would price a kit for the M/Cyl; and Slave cylinder and re-kit both, remember the slave cyl; will have BUGGERD cups as well,  .

DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY,  ,

FITZY.

have taken it out, piston still moves but the intake bit has swollen and it wont let anything suck in. has only been a couple of weeks and i think that the slave is ok but will see how it goes. got a second hand master from lineside for $65 and got home and realised it was fucked (piston stuck at bottom) was not impressed after a 50km drive to get it. they are trying to find me a good one now. boy they are a prick of a thing to get out too. on the vzn they are in behind the clutch pedal and it took me an hour to get the output hose undone.

cheers for the advise,
Pete

Thanks for saying you got the part from lineside Pete but what you forgot to tell everyone is that it was garanteed and that i spent all afternoon trying to find one for you and did find one in Auckland and it cost a lot more than $65 but you have not been asked to pay any extra

some people do not realise how much we try to help

Kev, I am very greatfull for the work you put in this afternoon. This is my first time that i have delt with you that i have not come off pleased the first time round. From my prevous dealings with lineside and the effort you put in today I would still reccomend you.

I understand that it has cost you more and that I have not been asked to pay extra, however I would not expect any less from any professional business.

I thank you for your help and apoligise for not updating my origanal post when the situation changed.

cheers
Pete
