Kiwi made duel case adapters

Post by Jafa »

I'm trying to gauge interest in a Kiwi made duel case adapter for Hilux/Surfs
How many of you Toyota drivers out there would be interested in buying a kit, very similar to the famous Marlin Crawler kit, for around $550 NZ. I am looking at doing a run of about 10 but need to know if I can sell them. They will be cast alloy and CNC machined. Might also do an additional kit so you can use forward shift boxes for both.

Also in the pipeline is an adapter to go between the Toyota geardrive transfer case and the Lexus auto trans, so you will have Lexus V8 and auto ----> Hilux/Surf geardrive transfer, anyone interested in this also?

Let me know what you think
'85 Hilux crawler, 3rz, duals, 4.7's, 4.88's, ARB's, 30 spline Longfields, 6 stud SNR4x4 Histeer, Airshocks up front, coiled rear, 40" Iroks.

What would you be looking for for the Lexus trans to transfer case adaptor?

I could be interested in both.

Cheers

Ok got some pics of the Lexus adapter design, those who are interested, let me know what yoy think of the design. It will bolt directly to the back of the Lexus A341, you will need to cut the thread of the output shaft of the trans.
It will have a double row bearing that the spline coupler runs in and a new speed sensor trigger. A Lip seal is behind the bearing so trans fluid dosnt leak out into the adapter, and an o ring inside the coupler. i will be designing a version of this that has a PTO unit incorporated in it that uses a synchro hub out of an old transfer case, more of that to come
I'll post up a little program tomorrow that you can download so you can view it like its in the cad software, ie you can section it, spin it and hide the individual parts, make them transparent etc

Very nice.

A PTO would be wicked.

Not sure if anyone here has signed up to this site but there is some interesting info on it. These threads are worth reading.

Looks suspisiously like SolidWorks Jafa, nice design.

Just curious cos I need this for work. What Software will you put on here so we can view it? I hear that the 3D PDF's will do this.

Looks good, I'll forward this link to my mate who does a few Lexus installs, sooner or later he'll have somebody walk in who wants a Lexus + auto in their Hilux.

Cheers
