hey guys

firstly i need some 15x8 rims to fit a solid front axle. secondly i need the tensioning pulley for the airconditoning belt as mine seized up while going down the otira gorge on the way to the coast. kinda concerned me for a bit as there was a lot of smoke from a burning belt filling the cab! :? but i took the belt off and carried on so all good there.

also while going over there the tacho was having a spasm :!: would die and then come back then jump all over the show. any ideas on what to look at? the sender unit or the plug etc?

Were any of the other gauges jumping or just the tach?

The tach will either be fed off the coil or the ecu depending on if you have an EFI truck or not.

I think I have the wiring diagram here if you want it.

Are you sure the gauge isn't just sticking? The signal might be fine.

pretty sure the gauge isnt sticking as i would be doing constant rpm then it will just go to zero for a few seconds then jump around all over the show and then be normal again. it is the only 1 doing it to.

If you pull the cluster you will be able to ID the wire that is the tach feed.

I believe on the diesels the tach is feed from the injector pump.
