Good work! Thats awesome! :) More women should use angle grinders

Its a 4WD, not some pretty truck... you can always use the angle grinder to tidy up the mess you make with an angle grinder, lol... go for it.

Whats next then? List the mods so we can hassle you until they all get done...

Well i'm trying to sort out wat class i'm going to try next year and make sure i'm within a class i'll be competitve in  so i think i'm out of a class unless i put like 28's on her but that just maakes me feel i'll so? maybe e class?

if e class is it she'll get a 2inch body lift to go with her spring lift, but i'm deciding as i go along, i've got to do something with the rear end, she feels like i'm 4wding with a tone off bricks in the back, so that will be the next step, if anyone has idea's 4 me let me no

You cant have a spring lift or body lift in either A or E class. You will have to cut more of of the body to make them fit. I was chatting to Brian Howat about it yesterday as im trying to decide what class in goign to enter my escudo next year.

If you are keepin the IFS front end go for A class if you want to put a solid axle in there go for E class (suspension mods to one end and fiddles to one end).

Take to the firewall with a big hammer and cut the guards right back inline with it. Thats what i have done with mine and i only get very slight rubbing with 31's.

Sas and fiddles is what im thinking for mine for E class next season. Pitty about the drum brakes though, they dont make for very good fiddles.

if you run the standard samurai wheels 30 9.5 15s go under the guards, have a look in spankys pics in the albums and you can see my little honey .std height and 30 inch tyres and i get a bit of rubbing on full lock only , if you dont lift it you will have no trouble with cvs i have gone for more travel rather than height, any ?s just put them up you will get lots of help , cheers vaughan

What classes are you lot talking about ? Some local club comps or national rallies ? Still waiting for the current rules for the national rally before I go cutting any guards as they seems to be some debate on what you can and can't do at the moment .
If anyone can shed some light it would be good .

Back to topic , I would recomend a cage anyway so may as well loose the lid :D

so with axle change to front end can you not instead of fiddles put disk's in the back and just use loss of traction to turn?

Talking about the national trials, i have the booklet and in the current rules you are allowed to cut your guards to fit tyres. There are some rule changes coming up but i think it is more to do with the running of the events.

Im a bit lost with what you have written?? Im going to do a bit more reasearch into the disc rear before i cut the front out. Im not too keen on front fiddles, they load up the front end a bit much and do not help with traction as much as the rear fiddles will.

Ive started on my cage as well, note that it is no longer a requirement fot the main hoop to go to the chassis it can all be body mounted now.

Just looking at the E Class rules it appears that you can
1. cut the guards to make the tyres fit - but no more - & sharp edges are not allowed (Shell :D )
2. fit disc brakes to the rear
3. get rid of the IFS & SAS it
& you can't
1. have tyres bigger than 33x14.5
2. change the rear springs
3. have any sort of lockers
If at first you don't succeed .... Get a bigger hammer!!
