Went up Rotherham on unrelated trip and stopped in at the river opposite the hurunui pub, Looks like an interesting trip up that river. (Matoki?? or something remotely like it) Any one here done it before?

Went to work on the house this morning and came home via the river (Ashley) found a nice looking water/sand/mud hole but didn't venture in. After painting some tractor parts I got itchy feet and contacted a mate and headed to the river again. Lead him to the hole and suggested he go through. He was too shy so I thought I'd give it a go and was surprised how easy it was so went back through the other way. That built his courage and he came on through after me - an hours or so later we got him out!!

Dunno if he slowed too much or what happened but the back slid across and he ended up against a bank and it was too sandy beside it for me to tugg him out. I shot home in my truck to get some more recovery gear and shovels and after a bit of digging we releaved the pressure on the side against the bank and I pulled him back tuill his back hit something else, after a bit more digging and another trip home to get another vehicle we pulled him out.

After that we got the otyher vehicle straight through but got stuck in the sand on the other side.

A while later we were playing in a much safer hole and met a guy with a lifted surf with lockers in the front and tested them on a hill we couldn't get up. dunno who he was but if you are on here say hi

Did you catch up with Dave Schoolderman or Malcolm Hurley or know Dan with a blue DX corolla? all about finished their sparky time too. Malcolm is my bro, Dave is my sister's boy, Dan lives local and is their mate.

dismantled the rear wheels of twuck to see what was inside.

The silliest handbrake system ever invented, just like that dumb thing inside BMW cars. SHoulda tooken fotos.... DUMB!!! Next time.......

A one-piece, nearly circular tin shoe with two brake liners attached, have to take the caliper, brake disc off to effect adjustments. BUGGER!!
make adjustment, test fit disc, not enuff, do again again again again till it fits. Of course one tightens it up too much by a tad, then its the devils job to get it off again!! More BUGGAH!!!

Works now, had to steal jack off loinfruit first though.

OHHH BTW, we both have reasonably good tyres at last for the offroading.

It is indeed, powered by a 454 Chev, tweaked to about 700BHP. It was one of the first monster trucks, could jump 3 cars! no suspension... their latestet one can jump 100ft and has rancho air shocks. Oh the new one has over 1500BHP!!!
