Being a 3.0 V6 your fuel economy will already be hurting. The V6's are fairly bullet proof untill you start chucking bigger tyres and lift them then you start running the riskes for bending steering components and blowing Cv's. Did yours come with a factory rear locker?

Have a look through NJV6's project thread lots of good information in there about making your pajero perform better off road.

I have a 94 2.8 diesel, with a now dented fuel tank and now a 4 mm steel protector for the tank, wish I had done that before I started playing

definately check out NJV6's thread.

Cheap mods...

Remove sway bars (your choice, I have, the on-road handling suffers)

Cut front upper and lower bump stops in half.

Crank front torsion bars untill truck sits level (most seem to sit low in the front)

The reason for the above to get get the truck to flex

You can crank the front sway torsion bars a bit more for an extra 2 inches of lift and swap the rear springs for some out of a Nissan GQ patrol. This will hurt the amount of flex you can get.

The CV's are pretty stong, dont worry about them.

Mine still sits at standard ride height, and runs a set of 33 inch mud tyres

Reading my report is inspiring an update!! 8)

If it is a 3.0 then putting Pootrol or Safari springs in the back may lead to vibrations due to short rear driveshaft length.
