I know someone that might be keen.... he is in invercargil - I am in Dunedin (although I am a toyota owner....) My mate has just bought a Feroza! cool weee truck.... I'll pass it on - or hopefully he checks this, he has just this week become a member of off road express.
If you want a passenger for the day..... I've been known to get some good shots with the ol camera and not too worried about getting muddy hooking ropes on etc....

yeh sweet az boss i got heaps of room at dis stage for passengers, i'm waitin till things get quite wet then gona go for a run out to lake mahinerangi. was spot liteing out the last nite in found a few new tracks, but will have to wait for the to be wet to make it harder/ fun

Heaps of room in a Daihatsu? not sure about that! '' Sounds good though..... My Brother in law has the Feroza but is in invercargil, if we do it for a saturday he would be keen... (hopefully!) I have a SWB FJ40... currently off the road but will beon the road all going well in the next month or two.... few things to finish off!
My mate who I was talking to tonight is keen BUT he has a land rover..... (':?') he argued that he has a Toyota Diesel Motor in it and we all know the daihatsu and toyota parts are found in both.... so techically he reckoned his landrover COULD be classed in the toyota club then daihatsu.... unconvinced... but another vehicle if ya come up short for trucks
Catch ya!

sweet as the more the merrier, the track i thinking of not hard unless its wet, then traxion dissapears in a lot of places due to it being on clay. its mostly flat with sum rather deep holes in it 2. you may no it runs from near berrick to mahinerangi. that and the karatai is a lot harder when its wet to. in the wet goin ups easy cuming through the wash out on the way down is much harder.

my mate should be sweet his landi is lifted with 32" Mongrell tyres.... it looks the part! which is good!
Catch ya!

yep out to lake mahinerangi when it gets a fair bit wetter was one trip i had in mind, the other could be over the old dunstan trail and in to the serpintine church then through to lake onslow, or start a roxburgh and go along the top of the hill and down in to waikaia bush, back out and along the top to alex, up in central the choices are endless

you all missed out on a great trip. small turnout though which is/was a little dissappointing 4 vehicals total, 2 lada's, a mistral n me rocky. plenty of fun had by all who came even tho they did spend a lot of time draging me out of places i should(n't) have been.would have been great to have had a few more well set up vehicles to encourge me to go further n push harder than i did.
total damage for the trip was wet carpet (now i hav n excusse to throw it away) a little bit more panel damage. and plans to put a set of shocks it the front and maybe rear of me offroader. will be happening again next month on either the 13th or the 20th i think will let ya no nearer the time watch this space
