Budget zook project

I need a bit of advice from the zuki people

Ive got a 413 body and chassis (thats about it). What should I do with it? I have a complete 40 series cruiser rear sitting there, along with a front housing, but it has no shafts or hubs etc, and it was a drum housing.

I would rather have everything small i.e small diffs engine etc, but if its the best thing to use, I will use bigger.

Everything thing on it needs to be budget (engine and trans and diffs), but what can I get that is cheap? There is an lj50 2 stroke for sale on TM, will it be powerfull enough? or should I get a front wheel drive engine and turn it north-south? There are so many options.

So, post here what you think, and also if you have any good deals for me

Cheers

I'd start with getting some drive shafts and steering bits and whatever else is needed for the landrover and showing us the thing in action at rallywoods or somewhere else like that 8)

HURRY UP!

You mean this one??

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... 740103.htm

Its rooted.

I had a look at it when i was there, it wouldn't turn over. My guess is that as it doesn't have a carb on it and its been sitting out side for god knows how long its seized.

Been thinking i should get it for spare bits, but what do i need three engines and three gearbox's for

Those motors only really work with the low geared transmission in the LJ50. They make peak power at about 6000 rpm and have to be geared so they can rev like that all the time

Hi Tu, the sky is the limit for your project, but you'll be a bit handicapped if the budget is tight. Take a look at some of the American or Aussie forums like Zuwharrie, Pirate or Outer Limits. All sorts of great ideas for a Zuki on those. I know you want to keep the spend down, so with that in mind, Suzuki G13 or Nissan A15 & 5 speed, Suzuki axles, SPOA, wheels and tyres and have fun! More cash = bigger choice of engines. Toyota, Suzuki G16, etc.
and maybe Toy axles, transfer gears, lockers, the list goes on and on. Good luck, Andy.
P.S:- you other guys stop giving him hard time about his LR. You should be encouraging the Suzuki! :D

North/south any common jap engine over 1600cc, get hold of some widetrack samurai diffs (1988 onwards samurai - 413s were from 85-87), failing that get hold of some 413 running gear and get howatt too put some stupidely big offset on the rims. Personally dont do a SPOA unless you are running hilux running gear. Zuk diff/axle housings are small enough to get good clearence with 31s. My 410 gear on 31's has the same ground clearence as patrol, yota's on 35s. Hack the guards to get wheel clearence rather than body lift, chassis mount rollcage as most zuk bodies are farked. Bound too be something else.... 8)

I think rangerover diffs + suspension, rover 3.5 litre V8 and matching auto with a remote mounted transfer box. It should then go quite well.

if i were to do up a sj i would put in a 413 motor with a 410 transfer box,
do a shackle revers on the front and extensions on the rear(cheeep) and lock
the rear, and hey! big wheels and rip out the sway. thats pretty much a good little truck,
