Waipara River, Sat 31 Mar 07

Came across these two young lads in the Waipara, just at the bottom of the horse-shoe area. They had made it down from the SHW1 bridge believe it or not.
When approached they said "wer'e locals, we know the river, drive it heaps of times", to which I commented, "obviously not!"

Well and truly stuck with the front wheel drive Telstra in the pea shingle. We managed to extract them without too much trouble. A front tow was out of the question as their tow point was bent into the bumper!
I wonder what other dammage they have done under the car; and how long they would have stayed there before seaking help?
Their front tyres were dry at the tops so they must have been there a reasonable time indeed.
Looked like they had tried to jack it up with the scissor jack, but to no avail........

If you right click onto the links and "select save target as", then save the file somewhere on your 'puter were you can find them, they should play with Windows Media Player.

Then you need the divx and xvid codecs. Do a quick google search and install the codecs and you will be away and larfing.

Alternatively download the VLC player and use that instead of Media Player as it does not need codecs.
