Canterbury Training day

Thinking of running another training day to go over tow hoks (god forbib), winching, snatching, driving through rivers, driving on inclines and basic truck set-up. When do dudes want to do this(maybe next month sometime). Will need about 5 volunteers (experienced 4wdrivers) to help out. We could start in the morning, have a BBQ lunch then have a day trip in the afternoon.

I wouldn't call myself an experianced 4WDR, as my first outing with the ORE Forum was the Waipara training day last year.

I am very keen to help in any way I can though Al :!:

Have you considered setting aside a block of time for letting the girls who are less confidant to have a go as well, with some constructive advise away from all the worried partners that think they may get shown up, or loose thir trucks :?:

I am thinking last weekend of May. Will keep people updated. Pretty busy up until then. And Jerry, twice a year will do fine.

You have to break something every now and then, it affords you the chance to modify/upgrade/lie to yourself that you really need it/it's a bargain/it will add value to my truck etc

Don't think there is anyone in chch to run it at the moment?

Very good idea. we have had a fair few new people join from around the chch region recently so that could be a very good plan.

I stopped running these due to a local paper using one of the photos as ammo about shit happening in the wiapara river. Why don't you all look into proper 2day 4wdriving course run on the westcoast through the polytech. it is prt of the civil defence course and worthwhile doing. Alot of the old guys from CHCH don't post much on this site anymore hence the lack of activity and the training days.
