Just finished this week,seamed to taken frecken ages to make for a simple bar.large bar's 60mm O.D 4.5mm wall thickness,smaller bar 40mm O.D.Strong enough to push toyota's aside

but not too heavy(not as heavy as a tree

)

Hey Shane, any chance I could come around and get a good look at your barwork. I am thinking of tucking my winch further back along the chassis so that it is actually under the radiator and making something similar to what you have got.. This will give me a very good approach angle.

Yer thats fine,I have moved the winch back also approx 4 inchs,if you have a body lift theres another we trick you can do as well.
I'm off on a club trip today back monday,catch up next week or something.

This is my Rugger front Bar, which weighs 100kg and screws the approach angle up really bad....I guess this is an example of NOT an ideal one...its much happier with it removed

sorry its not clean. I can unbolt this bar in 5 mins so I can access the winch better for service etc. (still strong enough to take on pinetrees as some on the forum can attest to) Note that the tow hooks I've mounted are also not on the bar but directly to the chassis (I saw a whole bull bar nearly pulled off in a recovery once

)
I'll get some bars made up to protect the front guards one day too.
Allways thought that Hosehustlers bars were very smart - good job done there.

did have this but not certable
................
then ripped it off snatching a tree
why was it not certable rik? can someone please tell me the point of the "front stringer" on the bars, I really don't get it. It seems very popular on american rock buggys......and on some it seems to ruin the approach angle.
newbielicious

Im pretty sure the stinger bars are to aid getting the nose up really steep rock faces and in the event of a roll over , usually the A pillar and bonnet take the impact cos thats where the weight is (engine etc) therefore the point of the Stinger bar helps continue the roll till it gets too the wheels. May have that wrong but I ve seen other local vehicles set up that way and it helps getting the vehicle to land on the wheels rather than the roof.
Have a few pics of my zuk one in my photo album, but its purely a 40 mm box section bent accordingly to the shape of the front of my truck (

) have yet too smash a guard or headlamp - it is slightly dovetailed)

Have you looked at 'ih8mud.com'

This site has HEAPS of bumper ideas as well as roll cages and whatever else you might like to add to your truck to protect from bumps and bruises!

Why seamless pipe? just seems a bit overkill to me for the application. good luck with getting it finished

obvious i thought

Nothing fancy half pye moded square bar,curled it backwards with a 20ton digger,bolted into winch mount and fitted bush bars to the sides.Pushes most items out of its path,but anything bigger than a punga or 4"pitto I get the assistance of Wopass's dozer.
