== Toyota 4.88 Diffs and Nissan divorced T/C for sale ==

Post by SupraLux »

1 x complete rear wide axle assy, with disc brake conversion and heavy duty 4.88 LSD diff (V6 housing) fitted in good condition. This will be removed from my MU, and has perches welded over the factory ones to rotate the housing to suit that application - these could be retained or just cut off to return it to the factory setup. New bearings and seals and oil about 500km ago...

This will bolt straight back into a Hilux or Surf with rear leafs, or would suit a Bighorn or MU for someone wanting to do a spring over in the rear.

$650 ono for complete setup, sorry not wanting to split it.

Also, 4.88 High-Pinion front diff from the same project. Diff only, I'm re-using most of the front housing components in the Bighorn project. Can supply with a Lokka if wanted (used for a brief period in the MU, but virtually new)

$300 as-is
$700 with Lokka

Also, a divorced Nissan transfer case... bulletproof and ideal for big horsepower transplants... I bought it to go behind the Holden V8 in the Bighorn, but as I will probably do dual t/c's I am sticking with a toyota t/c and adaptor for the auto. It comes with a double-cardan front shaft (worth a couple of hundred dollars alone) and a UJ rear shaft for the outputs, and an input shaft.

$250

Also, a solid axle Prado REAR axle housing and half-shafts... complete hub to hub including brakes... takes an 8" diff. Drivers side offset diff housing.

$200

All these will be going on Trade Me in the next few days so if anyone here is keen, you have first option... give me a call on 021 637 600

I can fit it - but the amount of beer required would be significant :D

Found enough parts to build my bighorn axle up so will sell the front axle complete now if anyone is interested, Diff, housing, knuckles, brakes (uprated brand new vented rotors with KZN130 big 4-pot calipers), everything hub to hub, including the flipped arm setup if required. All fully rebuilt not so very long ago with new wheel bearings, new seals, new felts and rubbers, the works.

$1100 complete

To be honest I haven't a clue... If I had to guess I'd say the carrier might not be beefy enough for the torque the rear end eunning would constantly put through it...

Are you parting out the MU Steve?

I would have thought someone would have jumped on it at the price you were listing it for. It was a steal IMHO.

Well, I'm actually having second thoughts... found a replacement motor for $1500 so I might just fit that and sell it as a running certified beast...

Not sure... I'll just see what offers I get on the parts.. I really just want to finish the Bighorn and I need to get a few parts from the US to do that... And I'm running out of time as we've just sold the house... so I have to move... 3 weeks, 6 days and counting... so there is a little urgency...

So, Cash is King right now... show me the foldies and take the bits away...

I'm putting it all on trademe tomorrow so I'll see what response I get from there... No-one seems interested in the whole shooting box, so I'll sell it off bit--by-bit and scrap the remains...

Surely with it driveable someone would have to be interested. You definitely couldn't build it for anywhere near what you are selling it for.

Good luck with selling it Steve.

$250 for the T/C... freight I have no idea, but I can always package it up and take it to the freight company next time I'm in there and see what they say..

Yep, its an early Patrol one... I think its bigger than the 720 one I looked at...

Cheers

From stuff I have read on other sites it appears the patrol and datsun 720 divorced transfers are the same T100 transfers.......the only difference being the patrol versions had bigger drive flanges than the datsun 720 ones. (I have two datsun 720 T100 transfers :D )

I hav'nt been following your build steve......been way too busy lately.....but are you going to run a holden 5.7 V8 and toy running gear? G52 or W56? obviously dual transfer.......

:D :D :D

Thanks for the info... yeah that might have been the difference I saw... smaller driveshafts and flanges... I only looked briefly under a 720 and then looked at the Poo-troll one and thought "yay, bigger is better :)"

As for the build, I haven't updated it in a while, but I'm using a 304 injected Holden V8 from a VN/VP commodore and the stock commy TH700R-4 auto mated to a gear-driven toyota T/C (from a W56/G52 drivetrain)... possibly with a dual t/c setup not sure if I will need it yet. The torque from the 304 multiplied through the auto and 2 transfer cases might be a little over the top...

Also going to go high-steer and replace the rear-facing pitman-armed Isuzu steering box with a front facing Nissan box (yes, I'm using Nissan parts, Toyota parts, Rover parts AND Isuzu parts all mixed together in a great big melting pot of harmonious offroad ability :) )

I've got the front axle nearly mounted, hopefully will duck up to Riks today and make the second radius-arm mount then I'm ready to weld the axle in place...

I'll move this all to the build thread when I have a moment and add some pics...

why the commy auto? or I suppose I could say, why not the T100 transfer?

I would have thought a better/easier build would have been:
holden V8 and auto to a T100 transfer

or

holden V8 to W56 and gear drive transfer (1 or 2 of)

I hope that makes sense :D

(yes, I'm using Nissan parts, Toyota parts, Rover parts AND Isuzu parts all mixed together in a great big melting pot of harmonious offroad ability )

I'm all for that, I don't give a sh!te who made it, as long as it is reliable and does the job :D :D :D
