brake problem

Post by taxi »

I have a 86 hilux surf which I have fittted longer shackles to and wound up the front torsion bars since doing this the brake pedal intermitently goes hard and there is a cliicking sound coming from the LSPV. Do i need to raise the mount on the diff for the load sencing arm?

I think you'll have to change something on it. I'd do a test run first, perhaps using string/rope to tie it down a bit to simulate a load on and see if it helps the brake thing.

Depending on how much you have lifted it you might need to adjust the mounting. It's pretty easy to do.

It might also be shagged now, if you don't carry many loads then it's easy to put a manual proportioning valve in it's place.
