If I am not Mistaken - only been there once and didn't take much notice of road names.... but just looking at my map on my computer.... Go thru berick and hang a right up 'Shaw Road' (someone needs to confirm this please...) If I have the correct road head up the hill for several km going past several blocked off 'tracks to the left and right but on the right there is a track that isn't blocked off and maybe 30-50m down that hang a left... this is the track it winds around thru forestry for a bit then meets back up and pretty much follows the side of the road. Good fun and close to dunedin so all good....

Camp ground has internet luckily.
Do you need permission to be in there?
If the trip goes ahead I'll be keen if its public access, if someone wouldn't mind texting me with details when they are confirmed.

If not, anyone done Abbots Hill or Halfway Bush Rd recently? Sound like ok tracks, but not sure what they are like now.
Think they are both between Mosgiel and Dunedin.

Will try to get back on here first thing in the morning to see if there is a trip going or not anyway.

Cheers,
Dave

Right lets get a time and a place to meet, say 10am at the Mosgiel shell station? I'll txt DaveM once you guys are happy with this time/place.

half way bush road / track.... I think tht is closed.... but abbotts hill is all go as far as I know I drove past the top end of it the other day.

Another good wee fun track is the one up from Tomahawk beach forgoten the name of it.... it isn't hard just some good ruts tho!

I have heard rcently that all three of these tracks are possibly gonna be closed to 4wd access but t hasn't been done as yet so if ya do them keep in mind that there may be people watching! My father was telling me couple of weeks back after I did the track up from tomahawk

Just remembered - if y head north to waitati and go up the silver peaks road there is (well used to be) HEAPS of really awesome tracks off that road up the top.... might be worth a look... this road is especially good in snow due to its high altitude!
