Hi ,i have a 84 surf which has the usual sag.Springs have been reset before to give 2in lift.I was looking at some new springs ,Local Repco said they can get maxitrac springs in heavy duty which gives approx 30mm lift or xtra heavy which gives approx 50mm.Any body used these springs before and how stiff are they. It,s my daily driver on 31,s so i don,t want a hard ride.

mine are the 50mm lift ones. not to sure on how many but i know they ahd one more leaf than the old ones in there. you will also need a new u bolt if its going in the front as the steering rod will hit it

Your local repco doesn't know their arse from their elbow. The heavy duty ones will give you 50mm lift and the extra heavy duty will give 60mm lift.
The heavy duty (H spec) ones will ride quite heavy in a Surf, but you can take a couple of leafs out to make them more comfortable.
The extra heavy duty ones (J spec) are for big load carrying... don't use them, as they do not flex at all.
What are they quoteing you for them?

$108+ per spring, but think i can get cheaper than that.Do you take leaves out front and rear.

seems very cheap... are you sure they weren't quoting front spring prices?
