Hi there people.
My name is Steve and I have a 4x4
Just got rid of my boat and Range Rover, and got a wee SWB Pajero, 3L petrol, 5 speed manual, soft top.
Purchased it 2 weeks ago, found the Soft top was screwed, so thanks to Google found
http://www.4wdworld.com.au/products/softtops/pajero.htm for only $1310AU - should be on it's way over shortly, then found also I had some pretty gay looking wheels, and could'nt find any 18" mud tires, so they have gone, and now have some 33" mudders on them with steel rims.
Looking at a snorkle next maybe, they look cool.

Hi Steve.
1st things 1st. Dont sell your toys, buy more toys. More toys is good.
hehe, anyway, welcome aboard, snorkel sounds like a good idea, but (putting my Jerry hat on) rated tow-hooks would be a good idea too

(just incase you need to be towed......)
Have you done much 4x4'in before? Albundy and a few others are running a training day towards the end of may, good chance to learn from the old timers.....

good chance to learn from the old timers
enough of that, I've still got enough juice in my sac to improve this country's gene stock you know
Nah seriously, welcome on board, come to the training day (when I organise it for end of next month), meet some dudes and have some fun.

And I thought the saying was
YOUNG dumb, and full of cum

I guess any age will do, right through to damn-near geriatric...
Oh, and just so we don't get off topic, welcome aboard from one Steve to another... just stop adding things to your truck to make it look cool... add things that are functional... a cool truck stuck in a bog is nowhere near as cool as a mongrel of a truck driving through the same bog, then reversing back in to either ask if you need a tow, or just to shower you in mud (or both)

Welcome Steve!
I'm new around here to. But I go along with Steve. To me what's "cool" are things that work well and hardly ever fail. Something that looks cool often doesn't work as well as something ugly. Funny that huh. That's my 10cents worth.

I have done a bit of fun 4x4ing, nothing to serious.
My brother in law Jay has a Izusu (I feel sorry for him) and he is in the process of joining the 4x4 club here in Christchurch.
Would be fun to tag along on a training day to see how it's really done. I have just bought a hi-life jack, will at least look cool on the back of the truck
Next upgrade is deffently the snorkle, if anyone has any suggestions on that one, weather I go the plastic one of get a steel one made.

turn off Moorehouse Ave into Montreal St 100metres on the right hand side, it has the Toolshed out the front.

I hope its because he's joining a club that you feel sorry for him... I'd be happy to put my Isuzus against any Pajero any day (well, any day that one of them is running, anyway

)

Well, they said that you should never judge a book by it's cover huh. My 84 FJ40 looks like a slug (I like that) but i've never been beaten from a standing start, yet (I'm sure it will happen). I've had it up to 150k's but I have no balls to drive it faster than that. I didn't upgrade it for speed. Just shear grunt.

Doesn't have to be going Steve, I reckon we could tow the Mu through some stuff that lesser wagons would not tread
