Description of tracks:
Kaingaroa Forest is one of the largest manmade forests in the Southern hemisphere. Lake Rerewhakaaitu Domain (base camp) overlooks the lake and towards Mt Tarawera only a stones throw away. Our trail will take you through some of the varied terrain that Kaingaroa Forest consists of and includes pumice/scoria hill climbs, axel twisting trails, a few ‘drop offs’ to keep you on your toes and generally some fun and adventure! These are trails that have never been used by 4WD’s before (not designed for ‘shiny’ trucks and WOF’s not required). You set your own pace and follow the arrows. This is a harder track than last year’s effort. All enquires welcomed.

Fundraiser for Lake Rerewhakaaitu School.
Enter at your own risk.
No Rego or warrant required on the tracks.
Approximately 3.5 hours of forestry tracks per loop. Able to complete several runs if desired. Track shuts at 3.30pm
This is open to anyone affiliated to NZFWDA, but it is Not designed for ‘shiny’ vehicles.
Saturday BBQ Dinner, Sunday breakfast & lunch provided with entry fee. Camping accommodation (BYO bedding & mattress, hall available), showers, toilets (more than last year!) etc provided Friday and Saturday night.
Bar facilities available Friday & Saturday (no eftpos, cash only). No BYO please.
Closest petrol/diesel – Benny Bee 14km, LPG –Rotorua 40km.
Must be capable of self recovery or come as a team working together (ie 3 vehicles).
$170 per vehicle (2 people included), extra passengers $40.
Rules as below.
Scrutineering (safety check ie brakes, steering, and equipment etc) 8.30am onwards Saturday 30 June @ Lake Rerewhakaaitu Domain (signposted from State Highway 5 by Rainbow Mountain). Farewell on Sunday at 3pm.
Rules:
1. Drivers must drive in a responsible manner that considers their own and others safety FIRST. Having fun is second.
2. All participants must be affiliated with NZ Four Wheel Drive Association.
3. Each vehicle must be equipped with the following:
Tow hooks front and rear (NOT tow balls)
Fire extinguisher (1.9kg minimum)
Tow rope and two wooden joiners.
Spade or shovel.
Spare fan belt and radiator hoses
First aide kit
PRS radio or CB required. Limited mobile phone coverage.
A front mounted and facing headlight.
Roll over protection.
4. Firearms are not permitted.
5. Litter is to be disposed of in an appropriate manner.
6. No alcohol before or while driving.
7. No drugs.
8. Seat belts are required for all people in the vehicles.
9. Roll bars required.
10. No dogs
11. The event may be cancelled at any stage due to safety issues.
12. All equipment carried in the vehicle or on the back must be secured.
13. Vehicles must wait until the previous vehicle has left a hazard before entering.
14. Any breach of the rules or careless behaviour that places others in danger will lead to expulsion from the event - No exceptions.

In consideration of the Organiser and the Forest Owners permitting me to use their properties for the purpose of a 4 Wheel Drive event I, the undersigned, hereby agree that I will not claim against them in the event of my suffering any loss injury or damage arising out of my activities on the land owned by the Forest Owners. I acknowledge that I have been advised that 4 Wheel Drive rallying on this property is dangerous and I am carrying out this activity at my own risk. In the event of any claim against the Organisers or Forest Owners, in relation to any actions or omissions of mine, I will indemnify the Organisers and Forest Owners and any servant of theirs.
As the driver of a vehicle, I undertake to act in a responsible and careful manner, abide by the rules and follow instructions given by the organisers. I will also take full responsibility for any passengers I choose to carry. 4 Wheel driving can be dangerous and my participation is at my own risk.

`Roll over protection' any thing that will stop your roof from crushing right down!. we at the school pta thought this is a good saftey issue as some parts of the tracks are very steep
.Most blokes that have winch/trails or bush trucks allready have roll bars, and these blokes are our traget group.If you think your roof wont crush down to far and we can see the protection then by all means come along

nah thats kaiangaroa ....and looks kinda like minganui as well a bit ... cool tracks
sorry to burst your bubble WOPASS, but these shots are not in Kaiangaroa or Minginui.
You are right in the fact that they are from another area though.
We just put up some knarly pics to generate interest.
Trust me when I say that this is what to expect on the event though.
Should be good fun.
